External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump in Washington DC on January 20. The Ministry of External Affairs announced today that ‘On the invitation of the Trump-Vance (JD Vance) Inaugural Committee, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-designate Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States as the representative of the Government of India.’ During his visit, Jaishankar will also meet representatives of other countries participating in the swearing-in ceremony, apart from other representatives of the Trump administration.
