New Delhi, January 21
The BJP today released the second part of its election manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur has announced many other schemes including free education in government institutions for needy students from KG (Kindergarten) to PG (Postgraduate) in the party’s election manifesto.
In the manifesto, students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC Civil Services and State PCS have been promised up to Rs 15,000 for two exam opportunities to provide a financial boost. Under the Bhim Rao Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme, students belonging to the Scheduled Caste community, who are pursuing technical courses in ITIs and Polytechnic Skill Centres, have announced a monthly scholarship of Rs 1000.
The BJP has also proposed to form an Auto Taxi Driver Welfare Board in its election manifesto, under which drivers have been promised life insurance of Rs 10 lakh and accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh. Similarly, the welfare board for domestic workers has also been talked about. The former Union Minister announced that if the BJP comes to power in the national capital, a ‘SIT’ will be formed by the BJP to investigate the irregularities and scams of AAP.
Thakur also criticized the AAP government for not implementing Jal Jeevan Mission in Delhi. The party has announced the launch of the Matru Suraksha Vandana scheme for women, under which every pregnant woman will be given six nutrition kits and 21 thousand rupees. The BJP, which once ruled Delhi for 27 years, managed to win only 3 and 8 seats during the last elections in 2015 and 2020 respectively. The polls for the 70-member assembly of Delhi will be held on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. -News-Patiala
