Bhagat Singh 50 crore legal notice to former army officer who called Bhagat Singh a ‘criminal’

Lahore, January 8

The chairman of Lahore-based non-profit organization Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation has issued a legal notice of Rs 50 crore to a retired Pakistan Army officer for calling freedom fighter Bhagat Singh a ‘criminal’ and accusing him of taking funds from abroad. Sharath has asked for an apology. Foundation Chairman Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi through his lawyer Khalid Zaman Khan has sent a legal notice to Tariq Majeed, Chief Public Relations Officer of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and retired Pakistan Army officer.

“My client (Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi) is a patriot and is sincere towards the country and Islam…he has not taken a single duani from anyone,” the notice said, quoting Bhagat Singh. It was said, “Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had praised Bhagat Singh in the Central Assembly Delhi on 12.09.1929.” Qureshi said that Majeed In his report filed in the Lahore High Court in November, he had used ‘very rude and insulting language’ for Bhagat Singh. Remember that Majeed in that report refused to name Lahore’s Shadman Chowk after Bhagat Singh, saying that Bhagat Singh was not a revolutionary but a criminal and as per today he was a terrorist, who killed a British police officer. And for this crime he was hanged along with his two other companions. -News-Patiala
