The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the election to be held on Saturday for eight wards of Dharamkot Municipal Council. Former MLA Kaka Sukhjit Singh Lohgarh said that 10 Congress candidates approached the High Court and obtained court protection to file nominations for Dharamkot Municipal Council. He said that despite all this, due to the alleged pressure of the current MLA, the police and election officials obstructed the nominations of these 10 Congress candidates and the files of only 6 candidates were submitted. The door of the High Court was knocked again regarding this matter. The High Court has ordered not to hold elections tomorrow in these eight wards. He said that the Congress had filed this writ petition through the candidate Sandeep Singh Sandhu Ward No. 7. Agreeing with the arguments of former Advocate General Tejbir Singh Hundal, the High Court has pronounced this decision today.
