Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended a wedding ceremony near Chandigarh today. This marriage was of a senior lawyer’s daughter. Gandhi arrived at Chandigarh airport this afternoon and was received by party state unit president Harmohinder Singh Lucky. Mr. Gandhi arrived with Lucky at the wedding ceremony held on the outskirts of Chandigarh.
Lucky told this news agency that Gandhi had reached the resort in Mohali district on the outskirts of Chandigarh for the wedding of senior advocate RS Cheema’s daughter. Mr. Cheema, who is a criminal lawyer and former advocate general of Punjab, has represented Rahul Gandhi in several cases. Lucky said that former Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa were also present in the wedding ceremony. -News-Patiala
