Punjab News: Increase in holidays in schools in Punjab due to cold, Education Minister Harjot Bains announced

Punjab News: The Punjab government has decided to extend the winter vacation in the schools of the state by one week in view of the severe cold wave in the region. According to this decision, all government, aided, recognized and private schools of the state will now have holidays till January 7 and all schools of the state will open on Wednesday, January 8.

Earlier, the government had made holidays from 24 to 31 December in all the schools of the state. Now these holidays have been extended by one week.

This announcement was made on Tuesday by state education minister Harjot Singh Bains in a post on social media platform X (X) in Punjabi and English.

In his tweet, Bains said, “According to the guidelines of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, due to cold weather, all government, aided, recognized and private schools of Punjab are closed till January 7. All schools will open on January 8.
