Protest against cancellation of nomination papers of Congress and Akali candidates

Protests are being made against the cancellation of nomination papers of Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress candidates in the Nagar Panchayat Baba Bakala election. Alleging bullying by the ruling party, both the parties have sent written complaints to the Election Commissioner Punjab and the Punjab and Haryana High Court and demanded justice. Today, Congress party’s former MLA Santokh Singh Bhaliapur and Akali Dal’s former MLA Baljit Singh Jalal Usma accused AAP of bullying during the Baba Bakala Nagar Panchayat elections. He said that Dalbir Singh Tong, MLA of Baba Bakala Sahib constituency, is being bullied openly. He said that Baba Bakala Sahib has won over his relatives by forcefully canceling the papers from Ward No. 12 and No. 5 and the papers of the Akali leader of Ward No. 4 have been canceled. He said that a written complaint has been sent to the Election Commissioner Punjab and Punjab Haryana High Court in this regard.
