Pune (Maharashtra), 20 December
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, expressing concern over the resurgence of many temple-mosque disputes, said that after the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, some people feel that they are ‘leaders of Hindus’ by raising such issues. can become Bhagwat delivered a lecture on Sahajivan Pratshamanmala (lecture series) ‘Bharat-Vishavguru’ on Thursday, in which he advocated an inclusive society.
The Sangh chief said that today the entire world needs to show that the country can remain united in harmony. Throwing light on the diversity of Indian society, Bhagwat said that Christmas is celebrated in Ramakrishna Mission. He also said that “only we can do this because we are Hindus.” He said, “We have been living in harmony for a long time. If we want to bring harmony to the whole universe, we need to model it. After the construction of Ram temple, some people feel that they can become leaders of Hindus by raising such issues in new places. This is not acceptable.”
Bhagwat said that the Ram temple was built because it was the object of faith of all Hindus. Without mentioning any specific place, he said, “Every day a new matter (dispute) is being taken up.” How can this be allowed? This practice cannot continue. India needs to show that we can be united.” Remember that in the past several petitions have been filed in the courts regarding the survey of mosques to identify temples. However, Bhagwat did not name anyone in his speech. He said that some groups from outside brought fanaticism with them and they want their old regime to return. He said, “But now the country runs according to the constitution. In this system, the people elect their representatives, who run the government. Gone are the days of chieftaincy and chaudhary.” – News-Patiala
