Former Prime Minister late Dr. who was a student of the local Hindu Sabha College. A condolence meeting was held today by the Hindu College Alumni Association to mourn the demise of Manmohan Singh. It should be noted that Dr. Manmohan Singh and his family migrated to Amritsar from village Gah in Chakwal district of Pakistan after partition. He joined Hindu College and completed his graduation in Economics, English and obtained top honors. He was the first student to get the roll of honor for the college and his name tops the board’s list. Today, in this event, the entire management, director, principal, staff and students of the college paid tribute to him. Association President Ashok Sethi Dr. Tributes to Manmohan Singh and said that he was not only a calm Prime Minister but also a statesman and epitome of humility. Head of Pingalwara Dr. Dr. Inderjit Kaur Recalling Manmohan Singh’s many visits and meetings, he said that he was a proponent of Bhagatji’s human approach. MLA Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh while paying tribute to the former Prime Minister said that he was impressed by his simple life and high ideals, who never did politics. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni paid tributes to the former Prime Minister and said that India has lost a great visionary and Amritsar a talented son. Dr. Manmohan Singh’s contemporary and lawyer Sudarshan Kapur said that he and Dr. Manmohan Singh used to go together for debate competition. Chairman of Hindu College Pardeep Mehra Dr. Remembered the contribution of Manmohan Singh. Former Minister OP Soni and MLA Raj Kumar Verka also paid homage on this occasion.
