Farmer Protest: DGP Gaurav Yadav reached the Gujran border in Dhaka to meet Dallewal, appealed to break the fast.

Farmer Protest: Punjab Police Chief (DGP) Gaurav Yadav today met farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a death fast for 20 days at the Dhabi Gujran/Khanori border under Patiala district. Meanwhile, Union Home Ministry Director Mayank Mishra was also present with him. Apart from this, Patiala DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh was also present with them.

He said that he has come here today as DGP because he has been specially sent here by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann. The DGP said that the Chief Minister has also contacted the Central Government to resolve the farming issue. He also expressed the possibility of starting a constructive dialogue between the farmers and the Center soon.

Talking to the media on this occasion, DGP Mr. Gaurav Yadav said that Mr. Dallewal is a talented, balanced and senior leader, so that the country of the leadership of balanced farmer leaders like Mr. Dallewal to carry out this ongoing struggle for the fulfillment of farmers’ demands. Punjab and especially agriculture is in great need.

He also said that the police do not want any coercion to break the death fast of Mr. Dallewal. That is why they have come here today to appeal to Mr. Dallewal to give up his fast, so that his precious life can be saved. He further said that apart from this, the Supreme Court has also instructed the Punjab and Central Governments to take full care of Mr. Dallewal, following which the medical team is taking care of his health and the matter will be examined. They have reached here.

Similarly, after the meeting with Mr. Dallewal, the DGP is holding a meeting with other senior farmer leaders involved in the front such as Kaka Singh Kotra etc. in the coming days. It is to be mentioned that Dallewal farmers have been on fast to death since November 26 due to their demands. It has been 20 days since his death fast and due to this his health is continuously deteriorating.

In the past, the Supreme Court also declared his life as ‘extremely precious’ and expressed concern over the decline in his health. The apex court had asked both the Punjab and central governments to meet him and persuade him to end his death fast. have come here to do

On the other hand, Dallewal says that his hunger strike will continue until the farmers’ demands are met. He said that if the government wants to end their death fast, then there should be an immediate dialogue with the agitating farmers and their demands should be accepted. He said that if this does not happen, he is ready to sacrifice his life.
