Twelve people, including 11 Indian nationals, died due to suspected carbon monoxide gas in an Indian restaurant at the ski resort of Gudauri in Georgia. All these victims are said to be employees of the Indian restaurant ‘Haveli’ in Gudauri on the Georgia-Russia border. The Indian Embassy in Georgia said that it has come to know about the death of Indian citizens in Gudauri. “Deepest condolences to the victim’s families,” the embassy said on X. The Mission is in touch with the local authorities for details about the Indian nationals who lost their lives. All possible assistance is being provided.” Georgia’s Ministry of Interior said that all these deaths occurred in the resting area on the second floor of the Indian restaurant. The dead bodies of 12 people working in the restaurant have been found here. According to the statement, there is no sign of injury or force on the bodies of the dead employees. According to preliminary investigation, a power generator was kept in the indoor area, which was very close to the bedrooms. The generator was started after the power went out the other day. Power generators should generally only be operated outdoors due to the risk of monoxide poisoning in the exhaust fumes of power generators.
