The air quality in Patiala has dipped to ‘poor’ quality, prompting the Health Department to issue a public health advisory.

The advisory advises people to avoid excessive outdoor activities, including walking, cycling, and running. It also advises people to wear face masks while going out.

People suffering from asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have been advised to carry inhalers at all times to avoid any untoward incident.

The department has recorded an increase in the number of cases of breathing ailments among children and elderly.

  • Avoid excessive outdoor activities, especially during morning and evening hours.
  • Wear a face mask while going out.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.
