The Government of Punjab has appointed Dr Avnish Kumar, Director Medical Education and Research (DRME) as the Executive Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid Medical University. Vice Chancellor Dr. Raj Bahadur resigned from his post after a dispute with Health Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra. After this, the resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been accepted. Now the government has issued a notification and handed over the additional charge of the vice chancellor to Dr. Avnish Kumar, DRME of the state. Today, Dr. Avnish Kumar, after assuming office as the VC of Baba Farid University, paid obeisance at Tilla Baba Farid. On this occasion, the management committee honored him by giving him siropa.
Dr. Avnish Kumar has been appointed as the vice chancellor of the university on a temporary basis. But given the current state of the university, the job of a vice chancellor is challenging. Because there is a struggle for regularization by a large number of temporary employees Apart from this, people’s eyes are also fixed on the plight of the Medical College Hospital.
