Deepak Pareek IPS, SSP Patiala informed the press. Patiala Police Cyber Crime Cell Patiala was flagged for action against a complaint by unknown persons/persons using group calling on WhatsApp and Hindu leaders residing in various cities of Punjab for abusive language, foul language, and threats. After registered FIR NO 143 DATED 12.07.2022 U/S 506,120-B IPC AND 66-E, 67 IT ACT Thana Kotwali Patiala.
These movements were traced to mobile number +447494409604. The accused is a 16-year-old minor who is a resident of village Atiyana Tehsil Jagraon District Ludhiana.
While giving further information, he said that the accused had come in contact with many persons sitting abroad through mobile apps. Those who have foreign numbers and OTP use it on their WhatsApp provided.
By misleading/inciting/enticing the said persons to abuse and threaten them.
In this regard, the accused is being interrogated in detail to get information about his other associates living abroad.
