The main festival of Punjab, Teej, was celebrated with great fanfare by the district administration with the support of Sarva Maitri Foundation under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni here at Baradri Bagh. On this occasion, ADC (Rural Development) Isha Singhal, SDM. Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh and Assistant Commissioner (J) Kiran Sharma specially arrived and celebrated the festival with women.
ADC Isha Singhal said that today this festival of Tis has been specially dedicated to the elders of Birdh Ashram and women members of self help groups including women empowerment.
President of Sarvamaitri Foundation and Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee Rozi Sareen and Secretary Anju Sharma welcomed the guests and told about the connection of Teej festival with the roots of Punjab that this festival has been celebrated in our Punjab for centuries with great fanfare. is celebrated
On this occasion, the girl students who are taking the vocational course conducted by the institute learned Gidha and Punjabi languages. The members of the Royal Musical Group welcomed the guests by singing Punjabi songs. During the program, ADC Isha Singhal was honored by presenting a Punjabi Phulkari by the organization.
On this occasion, members of the organization Dr. Sharwari Dahra, Barinder Singh Khural, Rupwant Kaur from Child Protection Department, Lakhwinder Sareen, Manager of Birdh Ashram Rongla, Parminder Kaur, Rajeev Verma, Renu Verma, Abhijit, Jyoti Rana, Ravinder. Kaur, Kuldeep Grover, Inderjit Singh Lamba, apart from city women and elderly mothers and fathers of Old Age Ashram Rongla were present.
On this occasion, various stalls were set up by women members of self help groups including progressive farmers and the audience enjoyed the ancient culture and food along with food items.
