Filing of ITR is mandatory for income above 2.5 lakhs
News Patiala: 27th July 2022 If you earn Rs 2.5 lakh or more, you have to file an Income Tax Return (ITR). The last date to file ITR for FY 2021-22 is 31 July 2022. The Income Tax Department has clarified that there is no proposal to extend the last date for filing ITR. Now five days are left to file ITR. In such case file your ITR as soon as possible. Online filing process special things
Check your personal details like name, email id, mobile number, address, date of birth, etc. First of all visit the Income Tax e-filing portal https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal. Login here with the help of a Permanent Account Number (PAN Number). If you are not already registered, register first. Then click on the File menu and click on the Income Tax Return link. Next, you have to select assessment year, ITR form number, filing type, and original or amended return. After that prepare and submit online as submission mode. The taxpayer has to choose one of the following options to verify his income tax return I would like to e-verify I want to do e-verification within 120 days from the date of filing.
I do not wish to e-verify and send the signed ITR-V through the Centralized Processing Center, Income Tax Department, Bangalore – 560500 through normal or speed post within 120 days from the date of filing.
