A case has been registered against a former Akali councilor in Bhadson police station area after he was accused of rape. The case was registered on Monday by a 35-year-old woman, former Akali Councilor Satnam Singh, a resident of Sandhu Colony, Bhadson. The accused is currently absconding and police are conducting a search operation to nab him.
The woman alleged that the accused had been having sexual relations with her for about five years by cheating on her marriage. Some time ago, when the woman’s husband came to know about the illicit affair, he asked the accused to marry him, but he refused. Due to this the case reached the police station.
Sometimes having sex at home and sometimes at the office
According to the victim’s statement, his acquaintance with the accused had increased in 2017 as he was a member of the Akali Dal party and Sarpanch. After this, a consensual relationship was formed between the two and the accused said that he would get married. The accused himself is married and the father of the children.
The woman is also married and has two children. An illicit affair ensued between the two and the accused started having sexual relations with her by calling her home and sometimes office under the pretext of marriage.
Some time ago, when the woman’s husband found out about the affair, a quarrel broke out in the house. When the matter reached the panchayat, the woman said that the accused should get married at her request, but the accused evaded. As a result, the woman lodged a complaint with the police. The accused’s wife is currently a local councilor.
The victim is undergoing medical treatment: SHO
According to Rajwinder Kaur, SHO, Bhadson police station, she is undergoing medical treatment. The accused is currently absconding and a police team is conducting a search operation to nab him.
