Sangrur, June 19, 2022:
Unemployed 646 PTI teachers chanted slogans against the state government in the city bazaars of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Even after a four-hour blockade on the National Highway. It may be recalled that the Unemployed 646 PTI Teachers Union staged a protest march in the major markets of CM Bhagwant Mann’s city Sangrur. The Punjab government demanded their rightful employment and the National Highway Barnala Bypass Sangrur was completely blocked. The district administration took 5 leaders of the organization to meet Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Several hours later, while campaigning, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was interviewed for only half a minute. In which no concrete assurance was received. Unemployed PTI teachers besieged the AAP office during which the police clashed with the unemployed teachers. After this, the district administration took action and arranged a meeting of the leaders. The organization with the Education Minister Meet Hair at Barnala yesterday, after which the dharna in front of the office was called off.
State President Gurlabh Singh Bhola said that two girls Sippy Sharma and Ravneet Kaur have been climbing the water tank of Sangrur Civil Hospital. The last 6 days demanded their rightful employment. Also no summary. In protest, unemployed teachers today marched in Sangrur and markets and made everyone aware of the anti-people policies of the Punjab government.
State President Gurlabh Singh Bhola said that the recruitment of 646 PTI teachers has been pending since 2011. He said that after ten years, on December 23, 2021, the Hon’ble High Court had ruled in favor of PTI teachers. He said that they had been struggling with their demands even during previous governments and the previous Congress government had not given them any solution. He said that today we were forced to climb on the water tank and sit on the roads. Again in this scorching heat as we were fed up with the policies of the Punjab government. He said that the organization had given three months to the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab to complete the recruitment. But the Punjab government had not taken any initiative to complete the recruitment.
Disclosing this here today Ravneet Kaur Bathinda said that an advertisement for the recruitment of 646 PTI teachers was issued on May 9, 2011, by the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. The Badal government was formed again in 2012 but this recruitment was not implemented. He said that even the Congress government formed in the year 2017 had passed 5 years in a row. Now the AAP government was not serious about this recruitment, due to which the matter was still pending.
The leaders said that during the last government Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann had visited our place of struggle and promised that the AAP government would come to Punjab. At first, their issue will be resolved, but today, despite the passage of many months. The Punjab government has not listened to them, only the dates of the meeting are being given.
Unemployed teachers demanded that the Punjab government should not meet their demands as soon as possible. Otherwise, they have now adopted a ‘do or die’ policy and in the meanwhile, the Punjab government would be held responsible if any loss occurred.
It may be recalled that in Mohali. when Shippi Sharma had been climbing on a water tank for 90 days. Kejriwal had made her his sister and taken her down from the tank saying that his demand for the formation of an AAP government in Punjab was the earlier basis. Will be resolved.
