 Team of District Health Department checked the confectionery and grocery shops in the local confectionery market. They filled the samples to check adulteration of food items.

 District Health Officer Parminder Kaur and Food Safety Officer Gaggandeep Kaur said that samples of food items from confectionery and grocery shops have been collected which will be sent to the laboratory. If the samples fail during the investigation, action will be taken against the shop owners under the provisions of the Food Safety Act.

The health team also instructed the shopkeepers to maintain cleanliness during production and sale of goods.
