Patiala, April 04, 2022: 2014 batch IAS Officer Mrs. Sakshi Sahni took over as the new and first woman Deputy Commissioner of Patiala. He replaces Sandeep Hans, who was replaced by D.C. Hoshiarpur. Taking over the charge, Mrs. Sakshi Sahni said that the district administration would reach out to the people by adopting a camp based model to solve the backlog and problems of the people in the government offices.

After assuming office, Mrs. Sakshi Sahni said, “Patiala district is an important district, as per the instructions of the government, the benefits of the public welfare schemes of the Punjab government have to reach the lowest level and the people have to be clean, transparent and free from corruption. And providing pro-people governance will be their special initiative.

Graduate in law, Mrs. Sakshi Sahni is known for her commitment to work and prompt decision making, including a compassionate attitude towards women, children and the elderly. Prior to this he was serving in Chandigarh as Additional Secretary Coordination and Chief Secretary, Punjab Staff Officer. While they are S.A.S. He has also served as ADC (J) in Nagar and ADC (Development) in Bathinda.

In an informal interaction with the media, Mrs. Sakshi Sahni thanked God for giving her the opportunity to serve in such an important district as Patiala and thanked the Punjab Government. He said that a campaign would be launched soon through Twitter handle to know the opinion of the people. He appealed to the parents to give their daughters a chance to reach the heights by educating them as daughters can touch the sky. He also asked the girls to dream for which he himself would always be a help to the girls.

Replying to another question, Ms. Sahni said that all the officers of the district including her would be present for the service of the people at all times and a camp based model for the service of the people would be introduced so that administrative services could be provided to the people easily near their homes. Maybe and people don’t have to wait. He said that administrative services would be provided to women, children and senior citizens on priority basis.

Mrs. Sakshi Sahni then held a meeting with all the SDMs and officials involved in the procurement arrangements and reviewed the wheat procurement process and apprised them of the instructions and guidelines given by the government. He directed that one grain of each commodity should be procured from the farmers’ mandis.

Earlier on the arrival of the new Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sakshi Sahni at the District Administrative Complex, a contingent of Punjab Police presented ‘Guard of Honor’ and saluted. He was accompanied by his father Sunil Sahni, mother Mrs. Anita Sahni and other relatives. Meanwhile, the officers and employees of all the branches of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office gave a hearty farewell party to the outgoing Sandeep Hans and welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sakshi Sahni. Later, Mrs. Sahni also paid obeisance at the historical Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib and the ancient temple Sri Kali Devi at Patiala.
