District Health Officer of Patiala Dr. Shelly Jaitley has been suspended. Director Family Welfare Principal Secretary suspended for dereliction of duty. A written letter in this regard has also been issued. During the suspension, Dr. Shelly Jaitley was posted at the Headquarters Commissioner Food and Drug Administration.
This was confirmed by Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Vikas Goyal. This evening a letter has been received from Principal Secretary Raj Kamal Chaudhary on behalf of the Health Department. In it, he has issued orders for the suspension of Dr. Shelly Jaitley. He said that for a long time now complaints have been received between the food safety inspectors and Dr. Shelly Jaitley about sampling.
Taking action in this regard, he has been suspended by the department. It may be recalled that a few days back a team from the health department had raided a baby milk factory in the factory area. The drinking powder in this factory was being extended even after the milk powder cans had expired. The factory was raided where Dr. Shelly Jaitley arrived late. This was also a topic of discussion, sources said.
