After detailed discussions in the War Room meeting, the following decisions were taken:-

Chandigarh, January 6, 2022: Chandigarh Administration has imposed several restrictions in view of the deteriorating COVID situation.

1. Movement of individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 10.00 P.M. to 5.00 AM. However essential activities including emergency services, medical health, transport of essential goods, operation of multiple shifts in industries, offices, etc, (both Government and private), movement of persons and goods on National and State Highways, and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains and Airplanes will be permitted. Detailed prohibitory orders u/s 144 CrPC would be issued by the DM Chandigarh.

2. All Educational Institutions including schools, colleges universities, coaching institutions, etc. shall remain closed. However, these institutions will maintain the academic schedule through online teaching. However, medical and nursing colleges may continue to function normally in offline mode.

3. All Government offices in Chandigarh will except essential services/ departments function with physical attendance of 50% capacity of actual strength with regard to Group C & D staff. The rest of the 50% staff would be required to work from home. All the concerned heads of offices would devise a roster to implement the same. The essential departments include Health, Revenue, Municipal Corporation, Police, etc. Services of any staff of UT administration can be utilized in these essential services/departments.

4. All Private offices also function with 50% staff and the rest would be required to work from home.

5. All Bars, Cinema Halls, Multiplexes, Malls, Restaurants, Spas, Museums, etc. shall be allowed to operate at 50% of their capacity subject to all staff present being fully vaccinated.

6. All Sports complexes (except for contact-less sports) swimming pools, Gyms shall remain closed except being used for training of sportspersons for participation in National/International sports events as well as for organizing National/International sports events. No Spectators or visitors are to be allowed in these sports complexes.

7. Gathering for any purpose should be restricted to 50 persons for indoor and 100 persons for outdoor. However, the total number of persons shall not exceed 50% of the capacity in both indoor and outdoor gatherings.

8. In Sabzi Mandi of Sector 26 only redials/vendors are to be allowed with the condition that all are fully vaccinated and No entry for retail customers/general public shall be allowed w.e.f. 10.01.2022.

9. Palika Bazar and Sadar Bazar of Sector 19, Patel Market in Sector 15, Shastri Market and mobile marketing Sector 22, Krishna Market in Sector 41, and all Apni Mandis to close by 05.00 PM.

 Anindita Mitra Commissioner, Municipal Corporation,  Vinod P. Kavli, Secretary IT,  SS Gill, Secretary Education,  Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioners of Panchkula & Mohali, Director, PGIMER, Director Principal, GMCH-32 & Director Health Services, GMSH-16 attended through Video Conferencing.
