After the Patwaris and Kanungos who came to demarcate the land in Jid village were taken captive by the Kisan Union, the police used force to dislodge the activists of the union and freed the arrested officials and employees of the Revenue Department. During this tug-of-war, DSP Rahul Bhardwaj’s arm was broken while a constable was also injured.
According to the information, there was ‘clashing of horns’ and ‘scuffling’ between the two sides, but no group was harmed. After the incident, the administration stopped the marking work for the time being, while the farmers’ organization has announced to start a front to guard the disputed land till January 30.
Administrative officials say that some people have illegally occupied a lot of land in village Jid, which is free from marmalade. He said that the administration was demarcating the land when the organized farmers came and disrupted the work and forcibly detained the officials. On the other hand, the mobilized farmers argue that the administration is not giving land ownership rights to the people who have been maintaining the land for a long time. After the matter escalated, the state vice president of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ugrahan) Jhanda Singh Jethu K and his other colleagues have reached the spot.
