Delhi Polls: Tenants will also get free electricity and water facility: Kejriwal

New Delhi, January 18

Delhi Polls: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that if his party comes to power again in Delhi, it will take decisive steps to provide the benefits of free electricity and water to tenants. He said this while addressing a press conference here.

He highlighted the concerns raised by tenants across Delhi on this occasion. “Wherever I go, I meet people living in rented accommodation who say they have the benefit of good schools and hospitals but are deprived of free electricity and water schemes,” he said.

Assuring a solution to the issue, Kejriwal said, “We will ensure that after the elections, the tenants, many of whom belong to the Purvanchal region, also benefit from free electricity and water.” The announcement comes as the Aam Aadmi Party is ramping up its campaign for the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections. The election results are to be announced on February 8.

AAP, which is trying to win power for the third time in a row, has built its campaign around its welfare initiatives. The party has presented free amenities and better public services as its main strengths. -News-Patiala
