Belagavi, 26 December
Controversy has erupted in Karnataka’s Belagavi over the alleged wrong display of a map of India on a poster put up by the Congress to mark the centenary of the 1924 Congress session.
BJP has termed it as ‘vote bank’ politics of Congress. According to the BJP and its ally Janata Dal (S) in Karnataka, the map of India displayed on the poster has removed the Gilgit region of Occupied Kashmir as well as the Aksai Chin region, which are an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir. After the controversy, Deputy Chief Minister and president of Karnataka unit of Congress DK Shivakumar said that the posters will be removed if there is any mistake.
The national unit of BJP strongly criticized the Congress over the map. BJP accused ‘X’ in a post, “Raga’s (Rahul Gandhi) love shop is always open to China. They (Congress) will break the country. He has done this once before. They will do it again.” BJP MLA Basangowda Patil Yatsal demanded that the police register a case against the organizers. The Janata Dal (S) said in a post on ‘X’ that the Italian Congress has removed the Kashmir region from the map of India created in Belagavi under the name ‘Gandhi Bharat’. He said that this is a serious crime like treason. -News-Patiala
