Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has a ground show in Chandigarh’s Sector 34 this evening. People from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other states are flocking to Chandigarh to watch this show, due to which the road from Zirakpur to News-Patiala Chowk has also been blocked. There is a heavy traffic jam at every light point on this road. Apart from this, many roads from Mohali to Chandigarh are also jammed. Earlier, many parties had demanded the cancellation of the Punjabi singer’s Chandigarh show on the grounds that it would cause great distress to the people. On the other hand, Chandigarh Police has stopped traffic on many roads. People have been asked not to come towards the roads like Sector 33-34, Piccadilly Chowk and Labor Chowk (Sector 20/21-33/34 Chowk).
Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had approved this program under certain conditions. A division bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Anil Kshetarpal issued directions that the sound level should not exceed 75 decibels during the show to be held in Sector-34. The bench said that action will be taken if the sound goes above the permissible limit.
