Mobile users are going to be hit by inflation once again. Recently, except Jio, all other companies had made their plans expensive and now their prices are going to increase once again. According to media reports, in the next few weeks, government company BSNL along with Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) are going to increase the tariffs. This will have a direct impact on mobile users and now they will have to spend more money for recharge plans.

Revenue of telecom companies is decreasing

The revenue of telecom companies has been decreasing for the last few months and to increase it, the pressure on the users’ pockets will increase. According to media reports, the revenue of these companies has fallen to 10 percent in the September quarter, whereas in the previous four quarters these companies were recording a revenue of 14-16 percent. There is talk of further decline in revenue in the December quarter, due to which companies will be forced to increase prices.

How expensive will recharge plans become?

It is believed that an increase of up to 15 percent may be seen in the overall tariff. According to the report of ET Telecom, brokerage firm Motilal Oswal says that due to continuous inflation and no major elections in the next few months, telecom companies may hike tariffs in December. For this reason, a plan with validity of 28 days can become costlier by about Rs 50.

These companies have already increased prices

Last month, Vi had made its Rs 1999 annual plan costlier by 12 percent and its 84 days plan by 7 percent. Similarly, Bharti Airtel had also reduced its cheapest voice only plan to Rs 199 instead of Rs 189. Government company BSNL also did not lag behind and reduced the validity of its entry-level prepaid plans.
