Railway Minister Vaishnav said that 10 job notifications were issued in 2024 through which recruitment for 91,116 posts is ongoing. Meanwhile, in 2025, seven recruitment notifications are being released for 38,463 posts.
A good information has come out from Railways for the youth who are looking for government jobs. Railways, considered the lifeline of the country, is a pioneer in providing jobs to the youth. In the last 11 years, this organization has employed more than 500,000 youth. This year, in 2024-25, there are plans to recruit around 1.25 lakh posts. This information was given by Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav in response to a question in the winter session of Parliament.
Railway Minister Vaishnav said that 10 jobs in 2024 Notifications were released, through which recruitment for 91,116 posts is ongoing. Meanwhile, in 2025, seven recruitment notifications are being released for 38,463 posts. Thus, in 2024-25, the Railways can reach the milestone of employing 1.2 lakh posts.
Ashwani Vaishnav said that between 2004 to 2014, 4.11 lakh people were employed in the railways. This number increased to 5.08 lakh from 2014 to 2025. The Railway Minister also said that the Railways has simplified the recruitment process by issuing a recruitment calendar. He also informed the House about the contract appointments. The minister said that these posts are created temporarily to meet various requirements and are abolished on completion of work.
