Indian Air Force has started the application process for AFCAT 1 2026. Interested candidates can fill the form till 14th December, 2025. Applications will be accepted only on the official portal, afcat.edcil.co.in. As per the notification, the AFCAT 1 exam will be held on January 31, 2026, and the admit card will be available for download from January 22, 2026. This recruitment is being conducted for the recruitment of officers for the January 2027 course of the Indian Air Force. Air Force provides excellent pay scale and various allowances to officers selected through AFCAT. Air Force officers get a salary ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 per month.
Educational qualification
Flight Branch: Candidates must have passed 12th (PCM) with 50% marks and 60% marks in graduation from a recognized university.
Ground Duty (Technical):
For Aeronautical Engineering, you must have passed 12th (PCM) with 50% marks. Also, you should have MSc in Electronics with 50% marks, or BSc in Physics with 60% marks, or BE/BTech.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical):
Weapon System Branch: Must have passed 12th standard (PCM) with 50% marks and graduation with 60% marks.
Admin and Logistics: Must have passed 12th and graduated with 60% marks.
Accounts: 12th pass with 60% marks, B.Com, BBA or CA/CMA/CS/CFA qualified or B.Sc with specialization in Finance.
education: Must have passed 12th standard and must have done post graduation with 50% marks.
meteorology: Should have passed B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics with 60% marks.
Age Limit
Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years
Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech): Maximum 26 years

The AFCAT selection process consists of three stages—
Written examination
AFSB interview
Medical test
Candidates who successfully clear all the stages will be trained at the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad.
