Due to the ongoing tussle over the Mayorship of Patiala Municipal Corporation, development works should not be affected. Due to which the Corporation Commissioner can be given the powers of the Mayor. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has sent a letter to  Corporation. 

The Corporation Commissioner seeking a reply that the functioning of the Municipal Corporation should not be affected in the absence of the Mayor. Due to which it should be told how the Corporation will work. The High Court has asked the corporation to respond in this regard by December 20. The High Court has given this reply to the corporation on the application of a group of councilors. 

Who moved a no-confidence motion against Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu. Corporation commissioner Vineet Kumar confirmed this. But the hearing of the matter of challenging the orders to remove Sanjeev Sharma Bittu from the post of mayor is also fixed on December 20 itself.
