4 minutes of breathless effort is very useful: Study on 96 thousand people in Britain revealed, running for the bus is also effective.

Are you unable to find time to work hard even for 5 minutes every day? If so, then change this habit, because just 4 minutes of breathless hard work every day can save you from 8 major diseases. It is not necessary to go to the gym due to breathless exertion. In this, running to catch the bus, climbing steep stairs or playing with children with full enthusiasm is equally effective for you. A recent study by China’s Central South University has revealed that such short but vigorous exercise reduces the risk of dementia by 63%, type-2 diabetes by 60% and the risk of premature death by 46%. The research, published in the European Heart Journal, analyzed data from 96,400 British adults. The participants wore an accelerometer (a device that measures motion) on their wrist for a week, recording every small movement they made. A seven-year follow-up found that people who engaged in even 4% of total physical activity at vigorous exercise had a 29-61% lower risk of heart attack, stroke, arthritis, liver-kidney disease and dementia. Activity that causes ‘breathlessness’ is effective. Dr. Minxue Shen, the lead author of the study, says, ‘Fast exercise brings such special changes in the body, which do not happen with slow activity. Due to this, the heart pumps more efficiently, blood vessels become flexible and the body learns to use oxygen better. He says that intense activity also releases chemicals in the brain that keep brain cells healthy. This reduces the risk of dementia. Especially its effect was seen most on inflammatory diseases like arthritis, psoriasis and heart diseases. People who do not already exercise get more benefit. The study found that both time and intensity were important in diabetes and liver diseases. It was also found that people who did not do any exercise beforehand benefited the most. That means it’s never too late to start. Dr Ashok Seth, a cardiologist from New Delhi, says, ‘30% of adults in India are physically inactive. This study proves that without waiting for a long workout, even small daily vigorous activities can provide big health benefits. Doctors advise to climb the stairs instead of the lift in the office. Walk briskly to the bus stop or run briskly for 5 minutes in the evening. This is enough. Dr. Shen says, even just 15-20 minutes of such activity a week (2-3 minutes daily) matters.
