Suryakumar has scored 864 runs in 32 T20 matches for India at an average of 32 and a strike rate of 158.53. During this period, he has scored one century and six fifties. Pathan told broadcasters, “Maybe Surya should bat at number three. That would break the monotony of having three left-handers in a row.”
Ask Akshar, should Kuldeep get a chance?
The former all-rounder also said that there might be a temptation to try Kuldeep Yadav and bring back Sanju Samson, but he wants India to keep the lineup unchanged against Zimbabwe. Pathan said, “Akshar Patel should be included in the squad. He is a bowler who can bowl against left-handed batsmen. He is very good and experienced. We can also use him as a floater in the batting. That is the most important thing. Indian team may consider bringing Kuldeep Yadav into the squad as they have seen the attack of West Indies. So they may consider giving Kuldeep a chance against Zimbabwe so that West He can be tested before the big match against the Indies.”
He added, “Also, yes, he is a left-arm bowler. Yes, they can also consider Sanju Samson, but I don’t want the Indian team to make too many changes. I think there should be only one change in the playing XI. Akshar should be included in the squad.”
