‘I die my character …’, little fees and rolls too, Ranveer Shorey said- Tiger 3 was angry

New Delhi. In 2012, Spy Universe started with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. When Aditya Chopra started this Universe, he not only made Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif a part of it, but also introduced some supporting characters. Ranveer Shorey is one of them. He received a lot of appreciation for Gopi’s character. But he did not appear in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Recently, Ranveer Shorey told why he had rejected this movie.

In an interview to YouTube channel Digital commentary, Ranveer Shorey spoke on the decision to separate herself from the second part of ‘Tiger’. He said, ‘After Tiger, YRF also offered me Tiger 2. But the problem was that this time the role was smaller than before. While Yash Chopra and Salim Khan praised my work in the first part. When I got the script of the second part, I saw that my character is not only smaller than before, but was also getting less fees. My argument was that if people like my character, then both my fees and screen time should increase. But he said that we cannot offer anything more than this. After this I refused to do the film.

Years later, YRF started working on the film ‘Tiger 3’ (2023), while Ranveer Shourie was once again contacted. But this time there was a creative condition associated with the offer, which angered him. He told, ‘Girish Karnad had passed away by the time it came to the time to make Tiger 3. After him, I was left only from Tiger’s original team. He contacted me again, but the same problem came out again. I said that you want me to come back only to get my character killed? He said- Yes.

Ranveer Shorey further said, ‘I got angry to hear this. I angrily took that role that it is fine. I will come to death to my character. If you are giving this respect to my character, then he should die. I did Tiger 3 in anger. This time I did not have much, but had taken fine money.

‘Alpha’ will be Spy Universe’s next movie

Let us know that Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger’ is one of the popular franchisees of Bollywood. After the success of this film, YRF carried forward its spy universe. Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ came in the year 2017. Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War’ was released in 2019 and then ‘Pathan’ was made with Shah Rukh Khan. This series continued till ‘Tiger 3’ and then ‘War 2’. Now YRF is preparing for its next film Alpha, in which Alia Bhatt and Sharawari Wagh will be seen.
