Is Automatic key-over backup in Rajindra Hospital Patiala or not ?: High Court asked from Chief Secretary

Less than three months of Punjab and Haryana High Court to surprise the absence of automatic power switch-over at the Rajindra Hospital in Patiala, a division bench has directed to file an affidavit on (automatic switch-over). The bench of Chief Justice Shil Nagu and Justice Sumit Goyal should be filed before the director of PHSPCL-over backed by the state of Punjab, especially in the State of Punjab.

If so, how and if not, why? Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha told the bench on the date of the previous hearing, the instructions have been issued to install the system in all government hospitals. “The Health and Family Welfare Department has been issued to the Welfare Department on all DG sets / power backups in all the DG sets / power backups of Punjab, which said in all the DG sets / power backups of the state.”

It may be recalled that the case was brought to the public interesting petition by Advocate Sunnaa. The bench had seen that a report presented in court confirmed that the power was closed at Rajindra Hospital on January 24, and 13 minutes was restored on 11:57 am. While backup power was functional in 11:46 am because it had to be handed over.

The bench also clarified that the automatic system was not available to the key-over from regular power supply. It took time for the process because it needed to manually.

The court had said that Rajindra is one of the major hospital in the district of the hospital, which is not only a large number of patients in the district. The bench had insisted that “in modern times, it is very important that the hospitals should automatically automate to the DG-set from the general power supply line.”
