International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the reward amount for Champions Trophy on Friday. The World Cricket Organization has increased 53 per cent compared to the previous time. The winning of the Champions Trophy, starting from February, will get Rs 19.5 crore to Rs 19.5 crore.
This ICC tournament will be held in Pakistan and Dubai. India had refused to visit Pakistan for the tournament after which ICC decided to have the match in Dubai. India will start his campaign in the tournament against Bangladesh on February 20. India is in Group A with the current champion Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh.
Apart from the winners, the subsequent winners will find 1. 1.12 million (about 9.72 crore), while both the teams out in the semi-finals will get 56,000 (Rs 4.86 crore). The total prize amount of this tournament has increased by 6.9.9 million (about 60 crore). “This great prize amount represents the ICC commitment to invest in a statement,” said Jai Shah.
Any team to win the group phase will receive a prize of Rs. 30,000 (Rs 30 lakh). The fifth and sixth place teams will receive $ 350,000 (about Rs 3 crore) while living in the seventh and eighth positions will receive $ 140,000 (Rs 1.2 crore). In addition, all eight teams will be given a sum of Rs 125,000 crore (about Rs 1.08) crore to participate in this ICC tournament.
