The meeting of Sri Vishwakarma Building Construction Kirti Kama Union was held at Vishwakarma Bhavan under the chairmanship of Chairman Dalveer Singh Jatana, President Balwinder Singh Bhairo Majra. The general secretary of the union Mr. Manmohan Singh Kala said that the construction workers union (IFTU) is holding a state-level dharna in front of the Chandigarh office of Labor Commissioner Punjab on March 4 regarding the demands of the workers. The Modi government at the center has abolished the first pro-worker labor laws and replaced them with four anti-labor and pro-corporate labor codes, which the Modi government is going to implement across the country during the month of April this year. With the implementation of these four labor codes, all welfare schemes for workers associated with Building and Other Construction (BOC) will be discontinued. He demanded that the Punjab government should pass a resolution in the Vidhan Sabha and reject them.
