Mountaineer Sanvi Sood, winner of the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award, was warmly welcomed by the constituency MLA Dinesh Chadha, apart from the city residents and the district administration, on his arrival in Rupnagar today. MLA Advocate Dinesh Chadha and Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain congratulated Sanvi Sood and her parents who rode on a special elephant from Bela Chowk to the Deputy Commissioner’s office for this great achievement and gave them Rs 11,000 in cash and a momento. honored He wished the talented girl to reach greater heights in the future.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dinesh Chadha said that it is a matter of pride for Rupnagar district that at the age of just 7, Sanvi Sood received the National Child Award and at such a young age has conquered the base camp of Mt. Everest along with major peaks like Mt. Kilimanjaro. Climbing mountains is indeed a great achievement. He said that today’s ceremony held by the district administration in honor of mountaineer Sanvi Sood will also prove to be an inspiration for other children of the district. He said that the 5-year-old mountaineer Tegbir Singh of Rupnagar will also receive this award in the near future. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the construction of a track has been started from Khad Bathlaur in Rupnagar constituency, in which the children of the district will be able to do tracking. He said that Rupnagar district has Shivalik hills and Sutlej river, which are very beneficial for trekking and water sports. Assistant Commissioner (c) Arvindarpal Singh Somal, District Sports Officer Jagjeevan Singh Gill and other senior officials of the district and city residents were present on this occasion.
