Ramji Kashyap, Prateek Waikar and Aditya Gunpule’s first turn foundation led India to a 100-40 win over Sri Lanka today to enter the semi-finals of the Kho Kho World Cup. The Indian trio impressed by adding 58 points in the first turn and gave the team a strong start. They did not allow Sri Lanka to add a single point from the ‘Dream Runs’. Sri Lanka tried in the second turn but their effort was insufficient. The lead of the Indian team continued. In the third turn, India played an aggressive game and at the end of it the team reached 100 points which was enough to take them to the semi-finals.
Similarly, the Indian women’s team performed brilliantly and secured their place in the semi-finals of the Kho Kho World Cup by defeating Bangladesh by a huge margin of 109-16 here today. -News-Patiala
