A female principal of a private school in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district has been accused of washing the shirts of 80 girls of class X. The administration has ordered an investigation into the entire matter. According to the information, these girls had written some messages on the shirts, due to which the principal ordered them to remove the shirts. These girls later had to return home wearing blazers without shirts. Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra said that this incident is of a prestigious school in Digwadi under Jorapokhar police station area.
The parents of the girls complained to the DC that the class 10 girls were writing messages on each other’s shirts about ‘Pen Day’ after giving their exams. The female principal objected to this and asked the students to remove their shirts. However, the students also apologized. Parents said that all the girl students were sent home wearing blazers without shirts. Mishra said, “Many parents have filed a complaint against the principal. We have also spoken to some of the victim girls. The administration has taken the matter seriously. A committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The committee consists of Sub Divisional Magistrate, District Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and Sub Divisional Police Officer. The DC said that action will be taken based on the inquiry committee’s report. Despite repeated contact, the principal could not be contacted. Jharia MLA Ragini Singh was also present with the parents of the girls at the time of complaining to the DC. Singh described the incident as ‘shameful and unfortunate’. News-Patiala
