Gift to Jandiala residents from Cabinet Minister ETO

Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of four bridges by giving gifts to the residents of Jandiala Guru here today. It is estimated that about 15 crore rupees will be spent on these bridges. The reconstruction of these bridges will directly benefit the people and provide shorter routes for people to move from one place to another, saving them both time and money. On this occasion, the Public Works Minister said that due to the widening of the Mehta road, the Khilchian drain on this road will be reconstructed at a cost of 291.77 lakh rupees. He said that the bridge had become too narrow for traffic and was old which could lead to an accident. Similarly, due to the widening of the Nawa village road, reconstruction of Kasur Nale on Nawa village road at a cost of Rs. 561.85 lakh, reconstruction of the Sabhra Canal bridge at a cost of Rs. 358.11 lakh due to the widening of the Gagarbhana road and Butar road. Dhardyo Nala will be reconstructed at a cost of 259.88 lakh rupees due to its wideness. The width of these four bridges will be increased from 20 feet to 40 feet, ETO said. The Public Works Minister said that the tender process for these works has been completed and a target of 12 months has been set to complete the work of these roads. He instructed the concerned authorities that all the works should be completed on time. Harbhajan Singh ETO appealed to the people to take care of the ongoing development works themselves. He said that the previous governments neglected the Jandiala constituency in terms of development and the road transport of this constituency was not given any attention, due to which the people of Jandiala constituency could not get the necessary facilities. On this occasion, Chairman Gurwinder Singh Randhawa, SEPWD Harjot Singh, ACN Simranjot Singh Gill, Sarpanch Ajay Gandhi, Sarpanch Dayya Singh, Sarpanch Balwinder Singh, Sarpanch Goldi, Sarpanch Gurvel Singh Jalal, Sarpanch Joban Singh Kuhat Wind, Pargat Singh Butar, Baljit Singh Udonangal, President Mehta Mandi Sukhdev Singh, Sarpanch Soni, Block President Gurjinder and German Singh, Butar Singh Jalal, besides a large number of party leaders, a large number of villagers were present.
