The teachers and grade four employees of Adarsh School Chowk staged a dharna in front of the school gate due to non-payment of salaries and forced termination of the teachers. The school teachers said that Adarsh School is being run by a private partner under Chowke Jo K (PPP) policy. The management of the school did not release the salaries of the teachers for 4 to 6 months and the teachers who raised their voice against the bullying of the management were forcibly terminated. He said that earlier demand letters were given to the department, SMC committee and the principal regarding the withheld salaries, but no action was taken due to which the teachers were forced to stage a dharna in front of the school gate today. In this regard, the guardian of the school management, Gurmail Singh, said that he will take full charge of the school in April but will pay the salaries of all the teachers by March 15 after talking to the previous management. He said that he will recruit new staff for the school as per the instructions of the government, any teacher can give them their resume but they must think about the education of the children. On this occasion, Democratic Teachers Front block president Vikas Garg and Navcharanpreet Kaur, Maur block president Amritpal Singh Mann and BKU Ugrahan leader Baldev Singh were present.
