Chandigarh, January 9
A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police in a terror funding case in a cybercrime case. While escaping from a hotel in Gurugram, he fell from the balcony of a third-floor room and died, Haryana Puli said.
Anti-terrorist squad arrested him on Tuesday, police said. He was kept in a hotel in Gurugram before being produced in court to get his transit remand to take him to MP. At the hotel, Kumar sought permission from police personnel to go to the washroom, but he tried to escape through the balcony using a cable, police said.
While escaping, he fell from the balcony of the third floor room and died during treatment in the hospital. Sohna Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhilaksh Joshi said that a magisterial inquiry into the matter has been ordered. According to a Haryana police official, the Madhya Pradesh police did not inform the local police before taking action in Gurugram. –News-Patiala
