Blast at police chowki Amritsar: Suspected explosion at Gumtala police chowki

Panic spread in the area due to a suspicious explosion at the Gumtala police post on Gumtala Bypass Road here on Thursday evening. As soon as the explosion was known, senior police officers reached the spot.

However, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has denied any explosion. He said that it was an explosion caused by some liquid leaking from the radiator of the car. This car belonged to a policeman, who was standing outside the police station.

Police ACP Shivdarshan Singh said that this car belonged to ASI Tajinder Singh, who was parked outside the post. There was an explosion under the car but on investigation it was an explosion caused by a ruptured radiator. This has caused cracks in the car glass. He said that rumors are being spread in this regard. It is not an explosion but the sound of explosion caused by car radiator burst.

It is to be noted that even before this, such explosions have taken place outside police stations and police stations in rural and urban areas in Amritsar district. Some people have been arrested by the police in this regard. This was the 9th blast in Punjab after November 23. Handlers and operators of the Pakistan-based ISI-backed Babbar Khalsa International, Harpreet Singh Happy Pasia, Jeevan Fauzi, etc., claimed responsibility for these blasts. The police had exposed five terror modules in these cases.
