New Delhi, January 17
The Ministry of External Affairs today said that Russia has informed India that 16 Indians serving in the Russian Army are missing.
An appeal has been made to repatriate Indian nationals serving in the Russian army, the ministry said. It said that 12 Indians posted in the Russian army have died so far.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “There are 126 cases (of Indian nationals serving in the Russian army). Out of these 126 people, 96 have returned to India and have been freed from the Russian armed forces.”
He said, “There are still 18 Indian citizens in the Russian army, out of which the whereabouts of 16 are unknown.” Jaiswal said, “Russia has classified them as missing, who are still in the army.” are We demand their release and repatriation.” –News-Patiala
