The Pension Fund Organization – Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the last date for processing and uploading pending applications for validation of pension related options or combined options to employers/employers on higher wages. It has now set a deadline of January 31 for employers to process and upload pending applications (which number around 3 lakh).
According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the increase has been made in view of repeated requests from employers and their associations for more time.
The online facility of submission of applications was initially launched on February 26, 2023 and was to be available till May 3, 2023 only. Later, taking into consideration the requests of the employees, the time was extended till June 26, 2023 to give full four months to the eligible pensioners/members to file the applications.
