Dallewal: Farmers encircle Dallewal; Thousands of farmers reached the Khanuri border

Jagjit Singh Dallewal (70), state president of Kisan Union Sidhupur, who has been on a death fast for the past 35 days at the Dhabi Gujran border near Khannouri, is on a Supreme Court order to transfer him to a hospital or provide medical aid by December 31. In view of the possible action to forcibly remove the leader (Dallewal), the farmers have strengthened the security perimeter around Dallewal. The farmers’ leaders have intensified the agitation in view of the preparations made by the Punjab government near the Khanuri border. According to the information, several water cannons, anti-riot vehicles, fire brigade and ambulance vans etc. have been deployed by the police at Patdar, some distance from the Dhabigujjar border. According to sources, around five thousand police personnel have been alerted. The discussion of storming the protest site on Monday and Tuesday night is in full swing. However, according to Allah Standard sources, the police has refrained from taking any such action after consultation.

According to the sources, today’s exercise has been conducted by the Punjab government to test the mettle of the farmers. Meanwhile, police officers were active at the Dhabigujar border today. In particular, former ADGP Jaskaran Singh insisted on persuading Dallewal for treatment. However, Dallewal did not miss the toss. DIG Mandeep Sidhu and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh is also making efforts.

On the other hand, the farmers have also tightened their preparations in view of the possible preparations of the police. They have increased the gathering of farmers at the border by giving messages. The guard around Dallewal has been tightened. Farmer leaders including Kaka Singh Kotra, Surjit Phool, Sukhjit Singh Hardojhande, Abhimanyu Kohar and Jaswinder Longowal have already said that they will strongly oppose such action by the police.
