DC Patiala Visits Water-Affected Areas of Samana and Patran

Patiala, July 15: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni today visited the water-affected areas of Samana and Patran to assess the situation and provide relief to the affected people.

 

Sahni was accompanied by A.D.C. (Rural Development) Anupreeta Johal, Assistant Commissioner (UT) Dr. Akshita Gupta and SDM Charanjit Singh. Officials of the drainage department were also present.

 

Sahni said that the water level is decreasing and people will get relief soon. She also said that the entire administration is working day and night to help the affected people.

 

In the areas where the water has returned in the city of Patiala, the work of cleaning the water pipelines, alerting the people about the diseases caused by dirty water and providing necessary medicines to the people is going on.

 

The Deputy Commissioner visited the villages of Ghiora and Sassa Gujra of Samana and said that the relief work is being led by Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jodamajra himself from the first day, due to which the staff involved in the relief work has become more enthusiastic. After that, she also visited Khanore and Batti Dara at Patran and gave necessary instructions to the posted staff.

 

Sahni said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is personally monitoring the ongoing relief work in the affected areas and the district administration is making access to every needy person. She appealed to the people to be aware of rumors and contact the district administration for any information.
