Amrit Kaur Gill, a female IAS officer of Punjab, has demanded premature retirement from the government. He has applied to the government under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). According to the service rules, he has given 3 months’ notice to the government. He has resigned from the post of Managing Director of Punjab State Civil Supply Corporation Limited (Punsap).
There is talk among officials that IAS Gill was unhappy with the attitude of the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and the senior officials appointed by them. But, the government or Amrit Kaur Gill herself has not said anything about it yet.
Gill wants to go abroad
According to sources, Amrit Kaur Gill now wants to go abroad. Due to this, he has made up his mind to leave the job. He has before served as Deputy Commissioner in Fatehgarh Sahib and Malerkotla. Amrit Kaur Gill is an IAS of the 2010 batch. Gill is considered to be an officer with a tough image. He is ready to fight anyone if something goes wrong.
Along with this, sources close to IAS Gill say that he is leaving the job due to family reasons. He clarified that there is no political reason for this. Nor is there any difference with any official or government. He has worked with many ministers and has a good experience.
