Extension of date for filing an income tax return (ITR)

 Income tax return (ITR) 12th January 2022: The Center has extended the deadline for corporates to file Income Tax Return (ITR) for the financial year 2020-21 till March 15, 2022. This means that taxpayers can now file their income tax returns for the fiscal year 2020-2021 or the assessment year 2021-2022 (AY 2021-22) by March 15, 2022. The Finance Ministry has also announced the last day for submission of the Tax audit report, which has been extended to February 15. This information was given by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday.
