The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has become the new mayor of Jatinder Singh Peiti Amritsar. Apart from them Priyanka Sharma Senior Deputy Mayor and Anita Rani Deputy Mayor. There are a majority of 46 councilors in Amritsar, which has 85 wards. The highest number of Congress councilors were 40 in the elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party had won 24 councilors. In addition, they also claimed the support of 7 Azad and 2 BJP councilors. The Congress had claimed the support of 41 councilors while referring to the support of an independ. Despite the greatest party, the Congress missed the mayor.
Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia said- I thank the Aam Aadmi Party leadership and MLAs who supported me. Earlier, the basic issues of Amritsar would be worked. Cleanliness and sewerage in the city will be solved soon.
